We went out yesterday. Fished end of culver. Conger, whiting, small bass and spotted ray. Moved out deeper for the same result.

As bad as itís been as far as I can remember. Painful

Hugh, I agree... Its as bad as I have ever known it.
When you can count the number of cod reported on social media on the fingers of two hands then its bad.

When you have 145 anglers fishing over 2000 rod hours for 1 x 4lb codling then its bad.

When you hear of loads of 2lb whiting but only ever see photo's of 14oz whiting then it confirms its ruddy bad...

Fingers crossed though mate... Rest of the country appears to be fishing well.. :-)

Not sure why though to be honest. The cod fishing is non existent. 3 years ago there was loads of 3-7lb fish in the solent. Where have they all gone. Scary thing is we went to Norway August and it was the hardest year weíve fished for cod.

Very depressing. Letís hope the plaice come early 😂

102 anglers in 45 boats. 5 cod caught winner was Tim Andrews with a 9 pounder. 14 prizes the rest were awarded for whiting. I have noticed that fishing is better inshore I didnít catch a cod but I did catch a lot of whiting with a good number over a pound and a half.
