Indeed I did own a Tackle shop at the bottom of Weston Lane.

Daves Tackle.... Myself and Dave Medway owned it.
It was situated on the corner where the old bookmakers used to be and next door was an unused barbers/hairdressers with the cafe next to that.

Takes me back a few years as we opened it in 1988 - 1989, and it must have closed in about 1992 - 1993. About 4 years it was open.
It was a meeting place and haunt for anglers who would just come in for a coffee, and spend their wages... There was no online shops then.. :-)
Myself and Dave Medway were only reminiscing this week about it.. We used to hold lots of competitions along Weston shore and surrounding venues, and events were always a great laugh with loads of great banter between locals to our shop and locals to Allans Marine.

Sorry Dave (rag and stick) I meant the other Dave (Stenson), although still time for you to own a tackle shop . Yeah I remember walking in as a kid 15 years old for bait and tackle as weston shore is where I fished every week for flounder etc,was great in those days. Remember buying a beachcaster from you, must check the warranty on it.lol. Booking a charter trip on dointhedo I'm up for. Tight lines Paul

David & Caroline - again another who has not met you but follow your outstanding fishing exploits and the new boat. Sorry to hear about that horrible condition coming back & wish Caroline well in her fight.

Had a charter yesterday in lovely conditions east of Nab channel - whiting coming up thick & fast 2 at a time which crew enjoyed on spinning rods but no cod despite live & big baits out on 2nd rods. I dog fish was the only other species. Whiting chucking up sprats.

Local commercial - said had a lot of cod around there a week ago in nets hence I went there. In the pub last night he said that yesterdays nets only had one small cod but a lot of other stuff.

Adam, no problem as usual got the wrong end of the stick! Yes would love to come out with Dave and Caroline. Ray did you get out today? We went out last Saturday and had dogs whiting and a surprising bass off Lepe / Calshot. Looking forward to spring and the plaice season. Dave
