Yep, hes expecting £100+ fuel bills, split 2 ways and the luxury of going when and where you want, it suits him. (all-right for some eh?)

Any thoughts on the Parker 2120?
It has cons i know, weight being one of them (towing), but the layout looks great to me, loads of deck space, something hes keen to maximise and a nice little v berth.

Its quite a deep v, i expect it needs alot of power to perform well, rated to 225hp

I'd go Pirate 21 with single ETEC 250 or (as is common) Honda 225, but hey everyone is different :-)

Yep thats what we have been doing, also appollo duck and boats and outboards etc, it seems like the hard core fishing boats are few and far between, weekenders seem more abundant but i think he would rather balls out fishing

The Raider 640 looks interesting, pretty rapid for the ponies too

The pirate is an ideal, but it would depend on finding one second hand, on a trailer with the right engine/s etc etc, they are few and far between, hence looking for other options.
Every review on all boats mentioned don't seem to compare to the Pirate for the Mid channel fast work

More than that new with a decent engine package. I assume matey boy was looking at used, in which case the price might fit his budget. Still a lot of money, probably still over priced, but they are exceptionally well built.

New wise I'd look at sourcing the boat and matching it with my own engine package.... But that's for another day

I had a QS640 which was good. I kept it in a marina, as I think 21 ft is at the limit for trailing and launching each time. The boat banged around a bit in a chop (at 28 knots ! ).

If it was me, and I had the money, I would go for the Pirate 21.

However the QS640 does what it says on the tin and is a safe sea worthy boat.
