You did better than me!  One small whiting and a single dogfish.  Tried 5 spots around the Bramble but the red weed got the better of me.  It was impossible to leave a line in the water for more than 5 mins without huge clumps of it bringing the weight off the bottom.  I even tried sitting on top of the bank in 7ft of water but it was still too much.  All this on a neap tide.  Have lost all faith in the Brambles for producing anything so it looks like its back to chasing sole for me next weekend.

Tomorrow looks better and if so I am off to fish a wreck at anchor so watch this space.

Well the swell prevented us from venuturing too far out  - it wasnt very pleasant at all - so we headed to 'Kicker and joined the other boats there.  No cod, despite trying very hard, but 20-30 whiting, 8 or so being of decent enough size for meals (and one in the oven as I type!).  Also had dogs and pout.

I know Al (ekyone) had a small cod at Kicker and Glen Miligan on Wight Huntress had one of 17.5lb at the same place.
