I have booked MV Freedom for Friday 19th out of Weymouth specifically to target turbot on the banks (she is wheelchair accessible so ideal for me). I have only got 3 places left - £50 / head. Need to be in Weymouth by 7.30 am.  We take own tackle and bait.  If you are interested, PM me - will have to be first come first served.

Hi Geoff

Sounds like fun - if you still have a plaice (!) I'll join you.

Lets just pray that the weather gods are on our side, had my last two trips to weymouth cancelled because of the poxy wind so really hoping this one is on. Cant see any end to this cold spell yet.

Take plenty of worm as the plaice are showing more than the turbot and brill which are very thin on the ground.

Have heard the turbot are much like the place in hayling bay some catch some dont. They have been getting quite a few at anchor with the water being a bit coloured, they are laying down a scent trail and bringing the fish to them, having said that I spoke to Nick at Allens and he has had guys in the shop recently saying they have had some turbot well in to double figures on the drift so things are looking up.Big smile
