Hello All,

I'm planning to go out on Tuesday with my Grandfather on his boat and would like to do some fishing while we're out. Having done some searching on the forum it looks like heading off Hampstead ledge might be a good plan, sadly in the past we haven't been very successful! I'm planning to leave a running ledger rig on the bottom baited with mackerel and squid then we can have a play with feathers and try to catch some mackerel.

Does that seem a sensible plan based on the time of year, tides etc? The boats based in Lymington so if anyone is generous enough to come up with other nearby locations which could be better or rigs we should be using it would be greatly appreciated!

Oli

It's looking pretty windy on Tuesday so try and stay in the lee of some land. Lot of weed about in the Solent too.

An old sea dog never dies, he just smells fishier...
