Set off early from Hamble, lovely day with the wind soon easing to F 2-3 all day. started at the forts anchored 300 yards away and had 8 smoothhounds and around 50 mackerel , then headed off further to new grounds and had a cracking blonde ray with more smoothounds, mackerel and garfish. More than happy with the day though and nice to finally get some decent mackerel. freezer full for the next year. My mate fished the needles Sunday and had no mackerel all day!!!

PS - Do tope get caught off the new grounds?? Tried all day with one rod out with a live mackerel but nothing. Im getting braver heading further afield though, only 45 mins to get back to Hamble. Soon be at the Nab!!  Paul
