my fav rig 4 plaice is a simple wishbone with yellow & black or lime green & black beads   with plenty off small rag on a 2or 3 long shank hook

I did alright last year with 4ft of mono from the lead to an atractor spoon then a short wishbone with two size 1's being about 6" away from the spoon. used one rag threaded up the hook as normal and one head hooked.

my top tip is to paint your lead with your fav plaice bead colours! ... works a treat.

big baits! i like to use baits around a foot in length, consisting of 3 or more worms, trailing from a spoon with yellow and orange beads

Right then I have my first Plaice trip booked for the 18th March and have done some research on rigs etc inc the above so will be amking thos over the next few weeks.

Could anyone advise me on how light you can fish with regards rod, reel and line? I appreicate it depends on exactly where you fish and whether your anchored or drifting but was thinking of using my small freshwater fixed spool with 20lb braid on either my 1 and 3/4 lb carp rod or buying a 6lb class boat rod.

What does anyone reckon??

I'm pretty new to it off a boat but I used a 7-8ft spinning rod and a F/S reel loaded with 10lb braid.

Can anyone recommed a cheap spinning road that would be suitable? I have seen some cheapies on auction websites like Shimano FX for about 20 and thought it would double as a bream rod? Anyone got one?
