I was out today, 'mixed ' weather!!!
Fished Sandown which was very busy.
Had a couple of ballan wrasse and a nice bream. Tide was super strong. Eventually had aenough and came in. Didn't see much happening with anyone else. Similar on the radio. No mackerel. No worries having a cold beer which is much more satisfying!
Good luck for tomorrow.

Went all the way to Bracklesham Bay, saw a car park of boats, but nobody on may favourite mark! Motored over, saw the lump I wanted and fish arches all around it. Motored 50 yards up to drop anchor and the anchor and chain went to the bottom but the rope stayed in the boat. The shackle joining the two had come undone! Unfortunately although I had a spare anchor I had no spare chain (pointless I know) so I spent the day and £185 replacing the anchor, two sets of chain and shackles. Before anyone wonders why the shackle wasn't moused, it was an Allen key shackle and I don't think it is possible to mouse them. I will be checking more regularly now anyway.

So easy to do! Very irritating none the less. I managed to lose a rod section overboard today. Not as expensive but annoying. I have a spare Bruce anchor you can have if you like, don't use it and bought in eBay at some stage. You are welcome for a beer if helpful.

I went east as well and had a good day. 3 bream to 2lb 12oz, 15ish Hounds to 10lb, 5-6 rays (free tip - keep your finger well away from their mouths else it can result in lots of blood!!), pout, doggies and 3 strap conger between 2 of us. There were a few mackerel caught, including in Bracklesham but none for us.

Sorry to hear about the losses of kit.

Very kind of you to offer, but I have a Bruce as my spare and it doesn't fit in my bowsprit which was designed around a 10KG Lewmar Delta so I have had to but another one of those. Thanks anyway!
