I hope all of you who got out today had a good one.  Many cod about?  The conditions looked great, unfortunately my body was in no condition to get out following our work Christmas do last night Wink

I'm trying to make my mind up whether to fish in the Solent tomorrow - Browndown area.  I know that it will be raining at times, also that the wind will be picking up during the day, but what do you experts think the conditions will be like around Browndown if I do go?

Thanks

Duncan

no cod today dunc and i didnt hear of any in the solent either. was flat on the flood but as soon as the tide changed was a little lumpy and cold when the sun went in. im sure it will be fine on the flood tomorrow but will be even lumpier on the ebb. ht is around 11.30 am so you could fish till it got uncomfortable.

by the way the slip is clear enough, been onto the poxy council to pull there finger out and was cleared last week.

That's kind of weird, all that I typed has dissapeared.....I'm not typing all that again!

But basicly Hugh I think we steamed past you at about 14:30/45 I was on board Sea Fox.

good job you never went duncan, chimet giving f6 gust 7 south west ShockedShocked

hugh why should the council waste money clearing the slipway for one day, when the weather forecast is showing f4 + all next week.
the person in charge actualy looks at the slip and weather then decides if it worth clearing,as they know the shingle will be back after a bit of wind

its not wasting money especially with all these boats that pay dues to use public slipways in the first place. it doesnt matter if the weathers good for 1 day or 10, it should be clear enough so people can get out if they choose when the weathers good enough. saturday was a prime example, good weather window to get out and the slip was clear enough because i asked them to clear it several times. otherwise no one would of got out after these winds not on the eastney slip anyway. why pay harbour dues if you cant get out? its a public slipway yet most of the public struggle with standard cars or vans with any sort of shingle on the slip, were lucky as weve got the dumper and winch, as a slipway for the general public its sh*te. ive pulled out a couple in the last couple of months alone and seen at least a couple of cars pulled out by other members using the dumper because they are stuck.
