Hi . I haven't been able to get fishing a long while ! Is there any point in spinning by the south parade pier or by the outfall at Eastney

I would say yes especially now that the water is beginning to warm up. Personally I would prefer Langstone Harbour entrance around LW but bear in mind that that all bass must be returned until the end of July and even then fish taken home must be at least 42cms long. This is being done in order to conserve stocks which are currently quite low. Don't imagine that you will not be approached by fisheries officers either. I was recently; they just got out of their RIB and walked up the beach to look in my bag.

you can keep bass from 1st July, its the first 6 months you cant

No, just about anyone, I personally have been approached by fisheries officers whilst beach fishing who wanted to look in my bag.
