If you read the free Sea Angling News in print or on-line version, you will have noticed the Langstone reports have been dropped. I have somehow been volunteered by Southsea Marina AC to coordinate the Solent reports so it can be reinstated. If you want to feature in the report, with or without a photo please email me your news to news@boat-angling.co.uk by 18th August (and 18th of every month) and I will endeavor to include it in the next monthly report. Hopefully, we will get a fishable day before then :( All news welcome, club or not. Thank you!

I've got my eye for a day out on Sunday! Not sure where to go but would be great to post a report of some fish coming overboard. Perhaps see you out there Dave?

Salar, would love to post some positive news after a good day out!

Sunday looks good. Hopefully plenty of reports - they don't have to be big fish, just send me news on what is being caught at the moment.

Taken Charters out Tuesday, Thursday & Friday.

Loads of large mackerel but shoals seem "tight" to an area so you need too scout around. On 2 of the days had to go over to I.O.W end for shelter. Over the 3 days have had smoothound (generally 5 - 7lb range), various types of ray (some big undulates), plaice to 2.5lb and loads of dogs. Friday became unfishable PM on the ebb with loads of weed along the bottom.

Also over the last 2 weeks have fished Chichester Harbour on Whitewash, my Orkney 520, and had some lovely gilt head bream, smoothound (great fun on light spinning rod) and lots of little bass. Good fun & somewhere to fish when cannot get out. Ebb tends to prove weedy so fishing on the drift for bass & bream is best when it is.

Also fly fished for the first time from the boat and had some great fun with the little bass once I had found them and got everything working properly!

Some advice -if you plan to boat fish in the harbour check the race times & locations with the harbour Master office. Itchenor sailing Club have no respect for anchor ropes even if a ball up, people fishing and they will use your boat as a target as they think they own the harbour. You are normally okay down one of the side channels.

Out on a charter next Tuesday but if blown off will be on Whitewash in the harbour.
Lets hope for some settled weather!
