Went out on my own this Saturday August to the Medmerry band Selsey looking fot Plaice i had one after many drifts it was on rag at about 0.9 knots drift speed just about 2lb but very satisfying to get one as it was my goal for the day but only 3 small gurnard and some Mackerel on the bottom, with it .
also anchored of the rough grounds near the broken mulburry and had some smooth hounds about 9lb on squid nothing to write home about but got to keep trying to get some Plaice .
Any ideas folks?

Yep, dont bother. They are very thin on the ground this year. We fished at Selsey all day yesterday with rag drifting all the usual grounds and caught nothing. Not heard of any quantity from anywhere just the odd fish here and there.

No, it was Rob filling his boots. He is going to have a couple of weeks off at the end of this week and I will be Captain for a fortnight!

The same parker was doing mini harbour tours from Camper Nicolson when we got in. What a lovely looking boat.

We had the small eyed when we anchored when we got there and the plaice on our 1st drift, tried several other drifts over the same area but no luck, so went to bullocks as we never seem to blank over there.
