Not a good day for us.
Started with a lovely flat calm day and we tried a few wrecks.
Visited 5 in total and stopped just short of the Osprey.
Managed one small Codling (less than a lb) and a round trip of 90 miles.
Headed back in about 1pm when dead on weather forecast prediction it started picking up.

After 2 weeks of not getting out I would have rather been out than not, but something switched the fish off. To fish 5 normally producing wrecks and get nothing!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like very hard work!! Can't fault you for trying...
Hoping the weather and fishing will perk up for end of next week.

Mixed bag around the brambles area with hounds, thornies, bream, bass and vermin keeping us busy all day. But nothing of any real size bar a nice big mullet on mooring while cleaning down the boat....lol

Sounds like wrecks were hard work, take it water was as filthy as it was around us. I reckon we could only see about 12-18" down.

I hear Dulci T sank today out there at the needles, all on board safely rescued. Brings it home a bit.

Dulcie T???

Stopped my boat so I could hear the May Day yesterday afternoon. (Encase I was near enough to help)
Heard Coastguard advise persons to use lifeboat and help had been dispatched.

Only heard one side of conversation (Coastguard side).

(Thought I heard "Lady" in the conversation of boat name)

"Lady" something may have been the fishing boat that was helping.

Also met up with Dave and Caroline on one of the wrecks 25 miles out!   Headed in at 12 as the wind got up.

Nice fish and well deserved.
persistence won the day for you.

To mention, when I arrived at the wreck that Hugh and Ray were on, they had just landed the Cod, and whilst I was setting my second drift up we saw Ray landing the Bass.
Hopes were very very high at this point.
An hour later I had had just the small (O so small) codling.

Could it have been my arrival that jinxed it???
