Hi People, been sitting watching forecasts and getting frustrated. No reports on the forum so thought I would start a thread. Must be time to start some maintenance on boats and fishing tackle. I will be on boat servicing engine ( oil change, new oil and fuel filters, new impeller and engine anode) should I be doing other maintenance that will keep the boat in order. The boat is 16 years old and I have never changed or inspected fuel injection or glow plugs, is this a complicated job. Thanks in advance for any advice. dave

After 16 years i think they would need chaging, glows and injectors, BUT
you can not take the injectors out clean them and put them back in you need to buy new washers because they are soft metaland the injectors have to be
torqued down on to the new washers,,,if you use the old ones they will not
reseat as they have alreay been flattend, have a look on youtube must be
something on there about it or ask john (monkey nuts) that his line of work,,to be on the safe side get a marine engineneer to do it trust me it will be cheaper,,any good luck with it ,,,

Many thanks Wapello, Have ordered all the bits. Till now have managed to do all engine maintenance myself including replacing heat exchanger and salt water water pumps even had to replace fresh water tank last year. Sometimes I hate boating, but one nice day in the sun with a flat sea seems to cancel out all the bad thoughts and hard work. Lets hope for more good days this year. Dave
