Forecast looked good so a hastily booked day off work.
Misty, dull and grey from the offset. Fairly nice conditions, settled at the fingers.
Caroline was first in with a 22lb 9oz fish.
Before I had got the scales out to weigh it she was in with her second fish, this one at 15lb.
The slack tide hit..
To rub salt into the wound she actually (And she meant it) said...
"Do you want me to bait up for you".... How she didn't go for a swim I don't know..
Anyway, tide started to run and my rod keeled over and 24lb 14oz.
Good day..
Had a "Huge" Blonde as well, a strap, and the obligatory Snoops." rel="nofollow">" rel="nofollow">" rel="nofollow">

The "Smile" on Carolines face isn't actually a smile, its more a grimace... She tried again and again and again to get those two lifted so I could click the button, and did it by sitting down, getting them up then standing up quickly..
Just don't let her know I told so...

Did you say you are having problems getting it up Dave?

Anyhow there is a lot of weight when you have TWO big cod to lift, one is easy.

Cheers for the comments and congrats.
On the subject of Cod, has anyone else noticed that its year 7 of the "7 year cycle"?
Last good year of this magnitude was 2007 and previous before that 2000 and 1993..
(Its true... Big smile )
There are a lot of 20 plus fish already whereas normally the stamp is 18 ish..
Could this end up being a bumper year for the 30 plusses ???

If it is for anyone then I am sure you'll manage to winkle them out! It's good you set the rest of us an example. See you out there. J

I'd be happy to get out there among the cod of any size. Come to that, I'd be happy to be able to get out there ... full stop.

Hopefully this Sunday.
