Hi

I'm a new member, just started fishing out of Cowes in a RIB.

Can anyone advise me as to a good spot for plaice not to far from Cowes?

Thanks in anticipation.

You can try the shrape which is just outside the breakwater drift or anchor also inside around
the end of the breakwater on a flooding tide(Keep out of the small boat channel). Ryde sand
is a bit hit and miss but can fish on a flooding tide. Start to the west of the shingle bank that
runs in from the fortand  in 2m of water and as the tide comes up move in towards Appley tower.
A calm sunny day is best, also fron the west of ryde pier with an west going tide and drift,
and its worth floating a fresh mack fillet back on a 3/0 hook and no weight, for a bonus bass

That is all very interesting mako, all the years I have fished the Solent I have never heard such detailed information on what were unknown marks to me.
