Fished the shingle bank down from high water at 10pm until 3am.
Baits Rag/Sandeel/Squid.

Weed a problem until the tide started to to run off although I accounted for an Undulate Ray of 4lb and a Thornback of about 2lb straight from the off on sandeel/squid cocktails.

The rest of the evening turned into a pout fest, catching 15+ fish on rag. Can't moan though as there were plenty of bites and good weather!!

A couple of the smaller pout were retained for Bass baits, but alas there were no obliging bars of silver around.

Good to get out after a long time absent due to work.

Hi Russ,

Would love the company, the only problem would be that I can't really plan when I go. My sessions are usually at a drop of the prevebial hat. Being my own boss, if the work comes in, the fishing has to suffer at the moment.

An example of this being the last time I got out APRIL!!!!!!!!

Hi Russ.

Neaps are best - large tides are hard to fish there sometimes and your lead will literally be washed up down the shore. Also, the weed can be terrible on large tides.

I have had best luck by far on a neap high water in darkness - done best when high tide is a couple hours after darkness falls. Seem to do O.K with all the usual baits - Rag, mackie, squid & crab.

Walk to left of rocks deeper / right of rocks shallower. To the right is where sole seem to get caught by people I speak too but haven't tried that side myself...

Last time there I was mobbed by small bream - dont know if they're still there?

Good luck!
