There decent boats baz, more than capable for selsey, nab etc. easily fish 2 people. It will need 50hp minimum to get half decent speed and fuel economy.

A 20hp will get you out in the short term but il dout your get much more than 10 knots as they are quite heavy boats. Worth getting it up together the way you want as it will do everything you want and will be cheap to run. I've only got a Cjr dory with a 30hp but it goes 25mph and I can get about 35 miles at 20mph on a 25ltr tank of fuel so it's very cheap to run

lovely looking boats i was looking at them the other day but havin 4 kids and bills to pay i cant afford one so im glad you said the micro was a good boat as this has cheered me up no end .
been a hole year with being messed about and playing with boats so now i can relax a bit and enjoy what i have .
im a welder an fabricator by trade so can build all the stainless and the trailor so this will save a lot of cash i can also fiberglass and gel coat as i used to work for spa form making jacuzzis so can save money there and hope fully get back some cash which iv lost previously and geta better engine

Il try and find the thread on my boat. When I bought it, it was completely knackered, didn't cost much but my mates a boat builder and completely rebuilt it for next to nothing. Cost me more this way in the long run as it had new electrics and electronics etc plus it needed an outboard. Got it totally refitted and in glad with the outcome. Don't get me wrong I'd love a new boat with a big ol engine but I can get out and fish most marks that a 17-20ft boat can mine just gets me there and back cheaper. With the price of fuel and marina costs I'm going to stick with mine for the time being. Plus I've got a buba coming in may so I won't have any choice lol

Sounds like a cracker Baz! Don't know the boat myself but just looked them up and looks

And I should think the 20hp will do you fine for the time being.

See you out there!
Martyn
