Any news on catches at weekend ?

Weather too nice to resist on Saturday (from number of boats out many felt the same but most seemed in hayling bay area)& so borrowed the charter boat with some mates & headed between Medmery & Nab. Only got there in time to fish the ebb.

Water was dirty. Had strap Congers, various rays of no real size, small whiting & loads of dogs. No excitement but lovely to be out.

One of the charters had a 15lb Thornback just outside of me but that was on the flood.

Saturday was a lovely day with sunshine and calm seas.headed out to 9 mile bank past needles on a mates boat and we had 5 congers, whiting then I caught a cracking spurdog at 17lb which is my first ever caught.tide was very strong with 2lb leads needed ( which I hate) .looking forward to some more nice weather so my own boat can get out to some new places I want to try.tight lines Paul
oh well, there is always next weekend!!

Lovely Spur. They used to be great sport (almost a pest in the 70s) but never got close to a double let alone 17lb!

Well done that man - there is a pulse in the dead sea!

Well done on the Spur that's a beaut,
Heard there has been a few Spurs showing on the charters that have managed to get out there

We headed out to the spoils ground Needles end, Not much to report just Pout, Whiting & Dogs. But it was indeed a lovely day to be out there.

Fished Hayling bay then Dean Tail on Saturday. Lovely day to be out. Mainly whiting, a few keepers. Pout and dogs. Heard of one plaice caught so they are just starting to show. Lovely pollack caught in Bracklesham, see my web site. Lovely spur, Palmshank! Not seen one for many years.

Lets hope it likes a long swim round to the Nab!

Someone on the forum caught a small spur in Chichester Harbour at back end of last year. Fingers crossed they are moving back into area in numbers.

Well done, great fish!
I heard of several caught last year and a few this winter too off the banks out from the Needles.
Fingers crossed they're coming back.
