Fridays weather shows a brisk ESE wind around the east solent. Can anyone suggest a place to fish at anchor until H T at mid day please. After that i plan to drift the entrance of Chichester harbour if all goes to plan. Thanks, Mark.

Cheers Steve. Do you think Fri would be a total wipe out or would it still be worth a try further in the harbour ?

Will be interesting to see how you get on.....

I'm gonna give it a go on Saturday if the wind stays as it is. Was thinking of tucking into Bracklesham Bay around a mile offshore to try and get a little shelter.

Hi Ady, I'm hoping ti get out Saturdat as well. XCWeather appears to be showing the wind dropping off.

Not sure where to head, I always seem to struggle finding the fish on the big tides, got some guys from work this time so the pressure is on!!

I'll give you a call if I am in the area - I was thinking of heading to a mark I know by Nab rock or maybe heading for the Medmerry....

hmm..

Sean

I was thinking it may be a bit bumpy out by the Nab Sean which is why I've taken the easy option.

I'll be down toward the Memery area, somewhere near the hounds. We are aiming to get out about 9.30 until around 2.30. I'll give you a shout on the radio and let you know how we are doing. I was rather hoping to find a few small codling. I'm looking to get myself down to the Medmery soon in the vain hope of finding the odd turbo......maybe too much to ask though.

Me and my mate are hoping to get out from chichester habour on sat as well maybe fish the whale hole or there abouts but looking on wind guru for east wittering it aint looking to healthy, force 4 e/ne gusting 5 to 6. I am also booked out on sea jucer with rob hicken on tues and that is looking even worse, booCry. Think it might have to be the beach someware.
god put me on this earth to acheve a certain amount of things in a given time right now i am so far behind i will never die

I've only really bothered to fish the Eastern drop off with any real intent, It throws up some decent rays now and then.

As for the turbot.....I have a feeling that there could be the odd suprise lurking somewhere on the bank itself. You hear of the odd decent fish being taken and now is when they have a second migration inshore, usually along with the whiting. I just think it could be worth drifting on the off chance.

As for the codling, if you have a look on your chart roughly ESE from the hounds you'll see a teardrop shaped patch of rocky ground. Its about a mile off Bracklesham. The patch is only about 400yards by 150 yards but I've had some cracking fish there.......Its one of my best kept bream secrets. I just fancy that it may turn up some early inshore codling. Plus it was fairly shaltered from the worst of the weather.

I fished the top of the banks 1st drop NE side and it was pretty quiet, also foshed the bottom of the bank SE side and again, we had fish but hard work.

I was tiold it fishes well drifting on the big tides, but am reluctant as last time I drifted on such a big tide I had the p*ss taken out of me rotten when I went flying past other boats at 5kn!! LOL

I don't mind making an arse of myself experimenting, but I didn't get any fish !!
