I Finally got my first Cod    . Second winter with the boat and not a sniff of cod last year so I was desperate Desperado to get one. Went out East Nab yesterday and after a bouncy couple of hours without a bite I decided to move. I was rewarded with a string of Congers a Cod of 6lb 8oz and these two of 12lb 8oz and 14lb. I was honoured with a drive by DOINTHEDO. Thanks Dave and Caroline it was great to say hi, made my day. Cheers. I put this post on because like others I have also questioned the cost etc of running my own boat, and a couple of weeks ago was seriously thinking of calling it a day. Well, it's days like yesterday that keep the madness going. I hope that those out today got into some fish. Good luck to those venturing out this week.

Nice fish, well done and well worth the wait. Lovely out there today....even had a doze in the sun which made up for only catching one dog fish over a 4 hour period.

Looking forward to reading about today's catches :-)

Cheers guys. For those that are interested, I had three rods out, two with squid, not dirty not filthy and not even down right nasty squid, just regular washed calamari and not so much as a passing sniffle from a cod. All three came to cuttle.
