Fish half a mile north of the wreck. Nice ground for rays and smutts. Mackerel or squid, had some great days on the thornbacks and undulates there.

I take a line from the 'inshore' of the two yellow bouts - head in a straight line for the Spinnaker Tower - then get to dead North of the Green deep channel marker .  Look around on the depth finder - lots of nice troughs and holes.

Obviously - if you're coming from Pompey - do the directions in reverse.

My memory is that there is a well marked wreck there that is good drifting for Mackeral. They have been quite scarce so worth a go. The regulars on the site should give you better info.

All or nothing for the mackerel on Dean Tail.

Mind you a mate was feathering for mackerel yesterday and had a 3lb Cod! Must mean winter is here?
