With the weather looking bad for tomorrow (Sunday) and a probable cancelled trip I was pleased to receive a call from Deano on Friday night saying that he had been let down by 6 anglers and could I fill any of the spaces, within 5 mins the boat was full again :)

Armed with 10lb of Squid and several packets Cuttlefish we left at 0800hrs from Yarmouth, destination south of Needles lighthouse for a days Codding.

Deano and Dad hooked the same 45-50lb Conger within 15mins of dropping anchor.

Mike had the the first Cod of the day, on a Squid/Cuttlefish cocktail.

Mike with a 17lber

Deano had the second Cod of the day, a nice 8lber taken on Squid/Muppet/Cuttle cocktail.

Fishing was hard going, big Pout and Dogfish were about but not too many Whiting for the pot like on out last trip out.

Dad with a big Channel Whiting.

Mike also had some other good Cod on that trip too.

The third and final Cod of the day, fell to the Wife on her first Cod Boat Trip.  During the summer she had landed Conger, Rays & Tope but all she wanted today was a big Cod and she wasn't to be disappointed.  Fishing with a Pennel Rig (10/0 & 8/0) on a 4ft trace loaded with a big Squid/Cuttlefish cocktail she managed to steal the day.

Wife with a 20lber

I only managed a Strap Eel, a few Doggies and the odd Pout but I don't mind, it was great to be out on the Sea again and seeing the Wifes face when she landed that Pig!!

That's right, pics 2 & 3 were on trip 20th Nov as sort of pointed out in the thread lol- can't seem to edit it to add that on after the line............

'Fishing was hard going, big Pout and Dogfish were about but not too many Whiting for the pot like on out last trip out'.
