Hi guys and gals, suffering from cabin fever and waiting for the spring to kick in. Reading the forum comments and the reports of those brave soles venturing out keeps me sane this time of year. Give us a clue on what we should be doing in terms of planning and maintenance of fishing kit and etc. Whats new in fishing tec. Just trying to get some kind of conversation going to while away these foggy wet and windy days to come. Desperate Dave.

I am taking my new boat out of the water on Sunday for 2 weeks.  I am trying to decide on the best antifoul to use for this area whilst still keeping cost reasonable.  Any thoughts please?

Hi solentrader since the banning of heavy metal in anti foul paint I use tiger extra which lasts nearly a season. I am not convinced that a coat of dulux will not equal the performance. Talking to the guy that power washes my boat the darker the anti foul the better this is based on his experience.

The Hempel Tiger is on special offer at the moment so might be a good choice.  Thanks.

Micron 77.

Have used numerous types, thus far have not found anything to equal this.
On the South Coast. (Includes River Itchen Mooring, River Hamble Mooring and Portsmouth Mooring)
Lets face it, anti foul these days is a trade off of whats the best of a bad bunch.

My advise, speak to as many of the guys in marinas who actually lift the boats and have to clean them for a living.

Human nature will dictate we invariably recommend what we use ourselves.
(The post would have got same reaction if you had put "What anti foul do you use") Wink
