After using a beach shelter regularly for the first time over the last couple of weeks I am thouroghly impressed. I used to be a brolly or nothing man (gruff northerner ). I just wondered if anyone could tell me why the "Beach Buddie" is 3 times the price of the Ron Thompson? The former must be made from better material or not be a silly shape when its in its bag!

I have to say that my Ron Thompson  was  very good in winds of 30mph and really driving rain, there was one slight drip from a tiny piece of plastic weld that has not made too well (easily fixable). So back to the original question why is the Beach Buddie  3 times the price of the Ron Thompson?

Al you on about the sunridge beach buddy? if you are they are crap as they are smaller in side than the rt shelters, plus the top comes off them as well but IMHO they are rubbish, the rt 1 is loads better, hence i got rid of the sunridge 1 and brought a rt 1

Thats the one Lee. arn't Daiwa involved as well? I cant see why on something designed as a beach shelter it has been made with a removable top! I would bet that the number of people who actually remove the top during a fishing sesh is miniscule! I still can't work out why its so expensive, I've seen them going for £139.99. My Ron Thompson cost £40 earlier this year.

my ron thompson was £40 aswell. superb value for money. they are so easy to put up and down aswell which helps. ive used a brolly aswell, well i did untill it blew 300 yards out to see at dungy nearly taking lee with it!

mines pompey blue aswell which is perfect, i had to wait for stock as they only had red left, and being a pompeyfan red was totally a no no. i would of been cursed and blanked every sesh for the rest of mty life lol!

So what difference has the blue one made? (only joking mate).

Mine's red though the gits I fish with say its pink. When Raymond first saw it in its bag he reckoned it would have Barbies on it when I put it up.

hey al its not pink and got a playboy logo on it,has it?lol

Getting back to the shelter the subridge 1 is pants reasons why

WHEN YOU PUT THE TOP OVER THE FRAME IT DONT CLOSE UP CORRECT,LEAVING GAP'S SO THE WIND/RAIN CAN GET INN.

When its put up there aint enough room in it.

The only good thing about it,it has a strap that connects to the arm,so you dont lose the arm unlike the rt 1

the rt is better by far

ok its a more of a pain to put up than the sunridge 1 as the top of the rt is to tight IMHO.

But the rt folds out bigger than the sunridge 1,and yes i think diawa do play apart in the making of it.

Skillpot what you mean it almost took me with it?get it rite mate it almost took me bloody head off
