I wonder if it is time to give it another try for big cod?

I'm out fishing Wednesday this week with any luck.

Hi John,

Whereabouts do you think? Brambles or Lepe maybe?   The tide is small so I think this favours the area.

I did have a favourite little spot off Sowley last Summer. There is a 15m hole in a 10m area where I used to get good Bream, Smoothies, thornies and Bass. I saw the commercial boys laying into it one day and after that I have been giving it a miss.

It is about 300 yards off a prominent cable marker with a huge mansion house on the Sowley sea front.

I don't really want to use up gazzions of fuel if there is nothing going at the Needles.

I need to give the boat a run so I think I'll just mosey out to Browndown or Lepe again, spend a few hour flying the chequered flag and mosey back in. Not much point burning a load of fuel for nothing. A breathe of fresh air will do. . .

morning terry
if your going to have another bash at a cod monster
have you tried filling the cavity of a whole squid with pilchard oil then sealing with elastic thread?,,its another tactic i use,the oil will seep out through hole,s that hook makes when you bait up
good luck mate (im off to work )Cry
