Been away & see that no posts for a few weeks.

Any news ?

Told it has been slow.

Only tit bit I can give is that a friend caught a small cod inside Chichester harbour and one was caught South side of the Medmery at the end of August. Both less than 1.5lb

I went out for short while last weekend for one pouting so I would agree slow 😊
Will be out again once the wind drops so we’ll see, always optimistic.

Plenty of plaice being caught last week. Not much fishing now until these depressions have passed over us I expect.

Well done for getting out. Was aiming for next Wed for a plaice trip to replace this week's but looks like another wash out.

Fished Gilkicker to start , was very hopeful at first but it was super quiet. Once 5he tide started to ebb the weed was awful.
After a while I decamped to Deans Tail, no weed there but was carpeted in small conger with the odd dogfish thrown in....
I expect there are still some nice plaice to be had, might be more profitable than fishing for the elusive C!
Good luck if you get out.

I too was at Gilkicker, much the same accept we didnt suffer quite so much with weed. My problem was the windlass packing up halfway into the retreive. Finally got the anchor on board with the help of a friend and the loan of a bouy to find wrappedcaround my anchor was part of someones rode, complete chain and a 7.5kg bruce attached, been down a while as it was covered in black smelly mud, took an absolute age to get it off the white deck....

It was you I spoke to at Premier, I will call on Ch10 when put next to swap notes if you like.
Hope you get the windlass fixed, might need to upgrade it to a more meaty one perhaps,
All the best
