Late change of plan saw me down at Selsey today, the result 4 plaice. Also tried Bracklesham for an early break but was plagued by pout and dogs.
Boat Name: "Millster", white Warrior 165

Started at Ryde Middle today and very slow with only a strap conger and dogs. Moved to shallower water off Hill Head & had a fish every 5 mins, mainly small pout interspersed with baby smoothhounds, bass & of course more dogs!
Cracking weather though 👍

If anyone could help me with a milford mark I would be grateful. I think I saw a report saying there were 36 boats on it so guess its easy to find on a nice weekend but would be nice to know where I'm going!

For what its worth, planned to drift hayling bay but decided to stop at the blocks with around 30 other boats. No space to drift so anchored up (thought it was a no anchor zone) anyway, spent 4 hours chucking bait over the side and all I caught was a starfish and a 2lb piece of rock. Not even a doggie. Sat there and had a good view of several boats around me, all seemed to have the same 'blank' afternoon. Spoke to a few guys who confirmed this. Heard some stories of people having bags full of plaice and bass but I'm a bit sceptical or maybe that's me. Got a nice tan though! Happy days being out on the boat for the first time since end of January.

We had a good day didn't fancy sitting in the boat park at the blocks so ventured out a bit further and was rewarded with 9 species even had a garfish when dropping a bait down .

That is because there are underwater cables servicing the Isle of Wight.

Our club Plaice comp was fished on the Blocks on Sunday. Best bag was ten plaice and another boat had seven including the winning fish of 4lb 10oz.

We had twenty five plaice in our three previous visits to the Blocks but none on Saturday or Sunday.
