Anyone know of any boat places available this weekend? I can fish on Friday too...

Any Southampton area / Portsmouth area charter boats that it may be worth contacting?

Itching to get out!

Cheers all,

Chris

You might struggle Chris, you could try and get on Sea Juicer if Rob Hicking has any individual places or Glen Milligan at Gosport with Wight Huntress. Glen might know someone that side with places if he does not have any places.

Yeah I know Andy. I've suddenly had Friday, Saturday and Sunday freed up from commitments so thought i'd try my luck!
If not, then I can just go to the beach as usual...

I'll contact these people and see.
Many thanks for your help,
Chris

I wonder why August is the very worse month in the year to go boat fishing in the Solent?

Shocked

Just an update for those interested;
Went out on SeaJuicer with Rob on Saturday.

Caught some small tope (my first of this species!!) , a nice smoothie on my 1st drop of about 8 - 10 to christen my new rod, also had my first small eyed ray.

Had a great day out! Rob's a good bloke too, very helpful / knowledgable and up for the crack!

Saw your boat when you came back in closer Snowy! How did you do?

Cheers all for the help everyone - Chris

Small eyeds, tope, smoothounds, gurnard, mackerel, scad, bream and bass, pretty much the same as Rob.

Went out today and it was dire! couple of Brill, a smoothound, scad, mackerel and pout.

Gremlin - August is a bad month all round these parts. No one knows why it should be, the fish are there but dont want to feed. Next month they start feeding properly again before migrating off for the winter. Only my theory but as good as anyone elses!
