My wife tells me that Aldi have advertised they are getting fishing tackle in (tomorrow I believe). It is mainly freshwater stuff but there are carp rods at £12.95.

It might be rubbish but Aldi generally sell good gear cheaply so you just never know!

They are two different companies but with the same policies and selling strategies.

Was in there today Telescopic Carp and "General Fishing Rods" , Brollies, Landing nets and waders also box of assorted lures (about 25 from spinners to worms and a rubber frog??? for £7.99) wasn't sure on the quality so decided to leave em there. also polarising sunglasses for a couple of quid.

I borrowed his new Penn Guvnor and 7HT Turbo to have a play with and after several perfect casts of about 150m+ I got it into a big birdie right at the end of the cast, I thought he would loose all that line, however my expertise at unpicking along with the aid of a baiting needle saved the day!

Lidl do the Bsquare tip lights really cheap occasionally. They are good for one night but won't last two. Don't really care, at 6p each they are a real bargain. Looks like the rest of the stuff they do (and Aldi) is cheapies for kids.
