Is this legal Andy? How can this be justified? We're allowed 3 bass a day yet he can rape the f**k out of it on a daily basis and not be penalised? It's total bo**ocks

He holds a fish licence mate, all completely legal. It is what makes the legislation a farce.

I understand there will be new legislation shortly which will place further restrictions on Commercial bass fishing.

im not keen on eating bass much myself, but goes well in a Thai curry....lol

i feel most for the rod and line charters who soul riley on bassing, it will send them under. and they dont damage anything compared to the pro's. going to be a tough call on how this will go with policing.

personally, thing i don't get is bass are like dog sh**, they are everywhere and generally a pest when im trying to catch other stuff, ie sole, bream, hounds, tope, turbot ect..... they just eat everything everywhere when i don't want them(typical when i take a friend who deos want one your cant find one for love nor money).
but more importantly .....why don't they stop the 500ton a time trawles of mackerel, cos lets face it if it keeps going on the bass will die down due to lack of food out deeper over the breeding grounds
