Well with the lovely weather around and finally getting a day off work, i had to take the boat out for a spin.

I needed to give the engine a test after doing some work on it so today seemed as good as any.

Plan was to go well south of the nab in the search of a cod.
As with all good plans, i changed my mind at the last minute and thought that if the engine played up it would be quite a treck in, with the tides building, so headed to the nab instead.
Wise move as my Ht leads were playing up, so a new pair will be on order in the morning.

There were about another 5 or 6 boats there through the day and although it wasn't the worlds best day there was plenty of action that kept us busy most of the day.

To begin with we were plagued with the normal dogfish and pout.
Then a slightly larger bite resulted in this bass.

A short while later and Jimmy pulled in a thornback, tail first so we all thought it was much bigger, never mind

We then got non stop whiting action for about an hour, just before the tide turned, none bigger than about a lb

Things then went slow for a while as the tide turned but as it picked up so the dogfish came on the feed again.

Martin soon after had a nice knock resulting in the first codling of the season for us.

Followed quickly by another Bass for me

As darkness approached the fishing died down again and the dogfish and pout took over.

That was it then, decided to come in.
Had a great day out with the guys as usual, Hopefully i'll be out and about again soon.

Michael,

the current procedure regarding adding reports and photos is explained in the 'Important Topics' found in every forum under the same name.

Basically you must send in the report FIRST using the REPORTS FORM along with any photos (as an e-mail attachment) before adding a report to the forums.

Photos posted in the forums should not be more than 500 pixels wide.

Chris
